A rich and indulgent chocolate cake with a gooey, molten centre. Perfect for a special occasion or as a sweet treat.

Chocolate Lava Cake

Ingredients

  • 115 g Dark chocolate
  • 115 g Butter
  • 2 Egg
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 30 g All-purpose flour
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream

Preparation Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (200°C fan) or 425°F.
  2. Grease and flour 4 ramekins.
  3. Melt the chocolate and butter in a bowl over a double boiler.
  4. Whisk together eggs, sugar, and flour until smooth.
  5. Fold in the melted chocolate mixture.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins and bake for 12-14 minutes.
  7. Let the cakes sit for 1-2 minutes before inverting them onto plates.
  8. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
