A classic Indian dish with tender chicken pieces in a rich and creamy tomato-based sauce, perfect served with basmati rice or naan bread.

Butter Chicken

Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken breast, diced
  • 150 g Plain yogurt
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch piece Ginger, minced
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 400 g Tomato puree
  • 100 m Double cream
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili powder
  • Fresh coriander
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation Steps

  1. Marinate the chicken with yogurt, garlic, ginger, and spices for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pan, heat oil and sauté onions, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree, cream, and spices (garam masala, turmeric, and chili powder). Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with rice or naan.
